Recent developments

See this woman? See her smile? She is pleased with her kitchen sink. Unlike me.

I'd love to be able to say that being offline has given me oodles of time to spend on more worthy things- that my house is sparkling clean, and I've sewed up a coupla dozen aprons, but sadly this is not true. For in addition to our computer calamity, we have been blessed with a kitchen calamity. Oh joy!

The plumbing underneath the sink has (to use a technical plumbing term) gone completely kerphloohey. Oh my gracious. Fountains of water shoot out from the pipes whenever we turn the water on, pouring over all of the cleaning supplies and whatnot stored there... and of course flooding the kitchen floor.

Consequently, repairing my computer has taken a bit of a backseat to repairing my kitchen sink for the time being. So yeah.

Looking on the bright side, my kitchen floor has had quite the thorough washing and looks better than it has in years. My nana would be so pleased.

So today I look nothing like that woman in the picture. I am smiling though. That's because I smile all the time :)

Oh my! Plumbing problems are so messy and smelly! Bless your heart! ♥

Oh my, Diane!!!! :-o

We had something similar happen when I washed the grater, spoons, and bowls I used to make our homemade laundry soap--without first rinsing them thoroughly in the sink in hot water....soap bubbles went *everywhere*. We had the cleanest floor we've had in our time in this house.

Speaking of which, I need to clean my floors today. Going out of town tomorrow, and want to leave a cleanish house (less mess to come home to, ykwim).

I'm sorry you are having to deal with the double whammy. I'm just hoping that these things don't really come in threes. :-)

Praying for you!

Oh the joys of the reality that "when it rains it pours"! I pray for you, my friend, for God's provision to meet all of your needs for computer and household repairs. (We need the smiles that your blog provides!)

It never rains but it pours. Ooops. Bad pun. But just think what beautiful refined gold God is turning you into.

Oh yikes. Yeah, well the best thing to do is fix a cup of tea, roll up your sleeves and look on the bright side! Good luck with that!

OH good grief! Hmmm...try as I might, I just can't find a "bright side" about this for you.

Maybe...appreciation? Just think about how much you will appreciate it when it is fixed....
There, I did my best. So much for the bright side!!
I hope all improves for you! Lotsa love!

rachel... actually i think the 3rd thing came first, lol.

thank you elizabeth... you are such an encouragement, did you know that? ((hugs))

holly... well thankfully this is only a clean water problem, so no unpleasant smell. thankfully!

ganeida.. now that's the real bright side. love ya dear((hugs))

sandra.. well, i try to smile all the time, but i'm sorry to say i don't always succeed. i'm getting better every year though, praise the Lord!

Water! Can't live without it, but...

Several years ago, the hot water tap came off in my hand while I was fixing Thanksgiving dinner. We had to put coffee mugs over both handles to remind ourselves - and a houseful of company - not to turn on the water. Fortunately, we were able to use the bathroom sink, and - Thanks be to God! - the dishwasher still worked.

We live in a swamp - really! - and I have always said there are two things I don't want done to me when I die. Don't put me on a machine, and don't bury me at sea!

Oh no!
When it rains, it pours, doesn't it?
We were having problems with a leaking toilet only to find out that the tub is also leaking- into my daughter's closet floor =(
Oh the joys of living in an old cottage...
Hoping that your sink and computer are fixed quickly!
Praying for you! ♥

I was going to be pretty concerned if you really had spent gobs of time on your house because your computer...sniff...died.

Sorry about the gusher in the kitchen.

Hope you all had fun...or have fun...doing the repairs.
